There are three categories of "belonging" at Triumph.
"Parishioners" are those people who consider Triumph their church home. Parishioners participate in the activities of church life, including worship, communion, weddings, funerals, choirs, small groups, etc. People become parishioners by their request or by regular involvement in the life of the congregation.
"Confessing Members" are those people who choose to identify with Triumph in a more formal way. A confessing member is one who confesses a personal experience of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and is in agreement with Triumph's Statements of Faith and Purpose, as well as its constitution. The voting membership of Triumph consists of those confessing members who are of legal voting age in Minnesota (18).
"Baptized Children of the Congregation" are those children of confessing members or parishioners who are baptized. A child remains in this category until he or she reaches voting age. At that time the baptized children of the congregation become parishioners unless they have become confessing members. Any baptized child of the congregation may apply for confessing member following the completion of Confirmation.
Our New Member class is intended to prepare parishioners for confessing membership. If you are interested in learning more information about future Membership classes, please contact Kaitlyn Cornell at 218-233-4048. Upon completion of the Foundations Class, a parishioner may fill out a membership application. Triumph's elders will arrange for a home visit and will also bring a recommendation for this requested membership to the congregation at the next church business meeting. |
